James W. Glidewell

James W. Glidewell 74 of Texas formerly of Ravenna. passed away Tuesday September 19, 2017 at his home in Texas.  He was born March 15, 1943 in Greensburg, Indiana to the late Earl and Frances (Jenkins) Glidewell.  Mr. Glidewell  has lived in Texas since 2005 and had retired from Colonial Rubber where he worked as a foreman.  He loved to play games, play poker and enjoyed his pet dogs.  He leaves to cherish his memory are his children Robin (Mike Oaks) Cain,  Kim (Ray) Baker ,  his wife Vickie Bird, his grandchildren Rhonda (Jeff) gates, Renee (Evan) Morgan, Laura Mclean, John Sommers, Tyler Baker, his great grandchildren Taylor and Travis Gates, Cameron Ward, Hunter and Annie Morgan, Natasha and Dominic Mclean.  He also leaves the mother of his children Rosie Glidewell and a very close friend whom he called an adopted daughter Lori Dennis.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Tami Sommers-Baldwin and son in  law whom he considered a son Ronald Cain.  Calling hours will be Tuesday September 26, 2017 from 2-4 PM and 6:00 Pm until time of funeral services at 7:30 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.  Condolences and memories of James may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
