James M. "Jim" Meduri, Sr. 74 of Ravenna, passed away Wednesday December 4, 2019 at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield, Ohio. Jim being a lifelong Ravenna resident was born in Ravenna on July 4, 1945 to the late Paul and Carmella (Simone) Meduri. He had worked at Troy Chemical in Burton, Ohio as a salesman and was a member of the Ravenna American Legion, Ravenna Moose and Ravenna Eagles. Jim was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Vietnam War. Jim loved sports. He was an avid golfer, and spent many years coaching football and baseball. Jim coached and directed the Ravenna Rams Youth football team in the early '70s and went on to later run Ravenna Hot Stove Youth baseball in the mid '90s. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn Meduri on April 3, 2002 and two brothers Joseph and Francis Meduri. He is survived by his children Jim Meduri, Jr. of Ravenna, Beth (Dan) Maccarone of Kent, his grandchildren Theodore and Samantha Maccarone and his siblings Pete Meduri of Kent, Paul Meduri of Ravenna and Anna Courneya of Auburn, Washington. Calling hours will be Sunday December 8, 2019 from 4-7 Pm at Shorts Spice r Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Monday December 9, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church Ravenna, Ohio with Father William Kraynak officiating.
