James J. Martin

James J. Martin, 61 of Ravenna, passed away Tuesday May 15, 2018 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio.  He was born December 25, 1956 in Bedford, Ohio to James P. Martin and Barbara Jean (McIntosh) Strickland.  Mr. Martin was an avid bowler and was a member of the  Rocton Masonic Lodge.  He worked as a welder for East Manufacturing and CI Machine.  Survivors include his father and step mother James P. and Carole J. Martin, his mother Barbara Jean Strickland, his  companion of 18 years Donna Bacon, his daughter Christina Martin, his siblings Rick Martin, Gary Martin, Tim Martin, Dave Beal, Debbie Martin and Thomas Lamp who he thought of as a brother.  He was preceded in death by his sister Laurie Maccallum.  At Jim's request, private family services have been held at Grandview Memorial Park Ravenna, Ohio.  Condolences and memories of Jim may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
