James William McCoy 80 of Cambridge , Ohio, formerly of Ravenna, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012.  He was born April  11, 1931 in Mantua to the late Charles Allen and Hazel (Springer) McCoy .   James was a bricklayer, Journeyman bricklayer/brick mason in Cleveland and retired from Morgan Masonry.  After retirement he worked for Riesbecks grocery store, Wal-Mart and Kmart.  He enjoyed  telling jokes, poetry, reading, nature, wildlife, friend to animals, bird watching, and had a nickname for everyone.  Survivors included his wife Dorothy "Dottie" (Walker) McCoy whom he married April 15, 1950, his loving children  Sharon Suarez of Kingsland, GA, Karen (Larry) Cannon of Atwater, Terry (Malee) McCoy of Kissimmee, FL, Jack (Linda) McCoy of Tallmadge, Bo (Pam) McCoy of Ravenna, grandchildren Shawn McCoy, Thomas Cannon, James Cannon, Shannon Sasser, Jason Davis, Jamie Thrift, Kaitlyn Douglas, Kandy Neely, William Agnew, Amalee McCoy Gandy, Melanie McCoy, 10 great grandchildren, his sister Betty McCoy Gonczy of Mantua and his beloved pets Chance and Sasser. Besides his parents he was  preceded by his daughter Deborah Ann Douglas, grand daughter Taylor Lynn Douglas, brothers, Harlan and Richard, and a sister Virginia McCoy Simpson.   Calling Hours will be held from 1-3 and 6-8 PM Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.  Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 24, 2012 with Rev.  Tom Ralston and Terry McCoy officiating.  Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua following the service.  A special thank you to Julie Earle, RN of Hospice of Guernsey County, also Eric of Med-Ox, Tom Ralston and Grace Church of Rootstown.
