James E. Moore, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at home, after a difficult battle with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease. He was born August 4, 1940 in Ravenna to the late Wally and Mae (Finch) Moore. He married the love of his life Connie in 1985 and moved to Streetsboro, where he resided for the remainder of his life. He was owner/manager of Chestnut Hill Golf Course in Ravenna. He also worked at Rotek for 30 years until he retired in 2009. Jim was a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan, an avid golfer, and a NASCAR enthusiast. Jim only missed 2 Daytona 500 races since he was 16 years old. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Connie (Arnett) Moore of Streetsboro; children, Shelli Moore of North Carolina and Jim (Laura) Moore of Florida; step-children, Paul (Polly) Matty of Barberton and Debbie Yorko of Streetsboro; nine grandchildren, Tyler, Graci, Abbey, Carter, Paul, Denise, Mike, Corey, and Cody; and sisters, Hallie MCClure of Ravenna and Barb Moore of Indiana. The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice, especially, Nancy, Debbie, Abbey, Pat and Scott, for the wonderful care they gave to Jim during this trying time. Also to Paul, Debbie, and Corey for the time and care that was given to Jim during his illness. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 1-3 & 5-7 PM at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home, Streetsboro Chapel where a funeral service will be on Friday at 11AM. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna.
