James A. Porubsky, 83, of Streetsboro became our gift to God on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Gardens of Western Reserve. He was born on May 5, 1928 in Cleveland to the late, John and Anna (Notch) Porubsky. Jim was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church and served in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict. He was a truck driver for Consolidated Freight for 30 years, loved sports, especially golf, bowling and baseball. Jim spent his retired years watching his grandkids grow up and witnessed the birth of his only great-grandchild. He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Don) Hunter; Daniel Porubsky; sisters, Mary Jane (Bob) Speno and Judy Czerwony; grandchildren, Jeremy (Stacy) Hunter, Jason Hunter, Joshua Hunter, D.J. Porubsky and Billy Porubsky; great-granddaughter, Isabella Hunter; and sister-in-law, Betty Porubsky. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Sonny. Jim's family wants to thank The Gardens of Western Reserve's incredible staff, Crossroads Hospice, and his dear friends Gamby, Dennis, and Chuck. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Shorts-Spicer-Crilsip Funeral Home, Streetsboro Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at St. Joan of Arc Church. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery in Northfield
