Jamie Butler

May 31, 1968 — June 2, 2024

Streetsboro

James Kevin Butler was born on May 31, 1968 in Warren Ohio to Jim and Nancy Butler. He passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Jamie grew up in Windham, Ohio with his sister Debbie. He spent much of his childhood with his beloved Uncle Willard and Aunt Katie, who always held a special place in his heart. Jamie has maintained friendships to this day with many that he grew up with during those years and has many fond memories of good times with family and friends. Jamie started his sales career at the young age of 20, this was a career path that he would stay on throughout his life. He entered into the field of software sales which remained the focus of his work. Jamie was very dedicated to his career and loved “closing the deal”. Any of his bosses over the years would tell you he was a dedicated, hard working individual throughout his life. As much as Jamie cared about his career, he cared most about his family. Jamie was a family man far beyond anything else. Jamie met his wife Kelly, where they both worked in 1990 and it was love at first sight. They have been married for 30 years and are true soul mates. Jamie and Kelly share three amazing sons together. Fatherhood is something that brought Jamie more happiness and love than can even be expressed. Jamie’s three boys, Ty, Will and Jake, are the absolute light of his life and nothing in the world brought him more joy. Beyond his family and career, Jamie was a total sports fanatic. He loved any and all sports. Jamie is an avid Steelers, Guardians, Cavs and Buckeyes fan (as strange as that combination is)! Jamie plays golf, watches golf and absolutely loves golf. He passed his love of the game onto his sons. With his love of sports Jamie naturally gravitated towards coaching, volunteering on all of his sons’ teams. Recently, his youngest son Jake began participating in Special Olympics on the Swim and Bocce Teams. Special Olympics is a program that has become very important to Jamie and we ask those who feel inclined to make a donation to the Portage County Special Olympics Organization (information below). Jamie's quick witted sense of humor will be missed by all that knew him. Jamie Butler is an amazing husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. He truly is loved by all that had the good fortune to know him. The world is going to be a little less joyful without him in it. Jamie’s legacy is carried on by his wife Kelly, sons Ty, Will and Jake, his daughters that he always wanted to have Emily and Brooke, sister Debbie and fiance’ Jimmy, niece Whitney, husband Jeff and great niece Stella, Mother and Father In-law Lary and Linda, Sister and Brother in-law Lori and Marc and niece and nephews Jordan, Drew and Cade. Jamie has countless friends that are near and dear to his heart. Jamie will be forever loved and missed. Jamie’s family will be welcoming family and friends to gather on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 4:00-7:00pm at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home, 9781 Page Road, Streetsboro, Ohio 44241.
