Jane E (Dewar) Mcferren

October 20, 1924 — April 13, 2012

Jane E. McFerren, 87, of Aurora, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012. She was born on October 20, 1924 in Cleveland to the late John and Gladys (Millett) Dewar. Jane was raised in Parma Heights by her beloved aunt, Esther Leonhardt and grandmother, Anne Dewar. She spent her early adulthood in N. Western, PA, and then settled in Aurora, where she resided for over 40 years. Jane was a member of the Church in Aurora, the Aurora Garden Club, and the Portage County Garden Club. She loved gardening and flower arranging . She was also an artist and a Historical Interpreter for Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia for over 10 years.  Jane is survived by her husband, John McFerren of Aurora; daughters, Kathy (Peter) Schueller of Richfield and Debbie (Dennis) Buss of Aurora; four grandchildren, Sarah and David Buss, and Seth and Ali Schueller; step-children, Susan (Richard) Morey of New Jersey , Linda (Jim) Lawyer of Aurora, and Scott (Marilyn) McFerren of Michigan; numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her  first husband , Samuel P. Rose. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 2PM at the Church in Aurora, with Rev. Kevin Horak officiating. Inurnment was in Aurora City Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial  donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr., Ste. E, Green, OH 44685.
