Mantua, Ohio

On December 30 of 2023 at 1001 Janet Deskins-Auber was reunited with her late father Charles Deskins into the arms of her Heavenly Father Jesus Christ. Janet was a woman that displayed Godly, loving, understanding, forgiving, and loyal characteristics. She was a mentor to all she came across in life leading others to Christ by being the example of what a woman of the Lord should reflect.  Born at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio on January 11 of 1958 Janet grew up in Aurora, Ohio moving to Austin Texas after high school. Janet received her masters in nursing from the University of Phoenix sharing with the world God’s love. Starting her nursing career at the Cleveland Clinic and then transitioning to the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center serving our nation’s hero's a hero herself. In 2021 Janet received a Daisy Award for the exceptional work she did with her veterans. In 2015 Janet was the nurse manager of New Philadelphia as well as the East Liverpool CBOCs never limiting her skills and passion for loving others. Janet led her teams with honor and grace following the policies and procedures making her facilities award-winning. Janet, with her ambition and strength, served as Lieutenant of the Ohio National Guard. While serving her country, she also loved and led her children and grandchildren through a Godly life.  With lots of love, Janet leaves behind her three children Gregory (Amanda )Walker, Jessica Walker, and Tiffany Walker, and her husband Robert Auber along with his 3 children Danielle (Robert) Drexel, Robert Joel Auber II, and Maghan Auber. She will live in the hearts of her seven grandchildren Tyler Williams, Christian Walker, Myrissa Walker, Paityn Williams, Mycah Walker, Alexa Walker, and Jeremy Pravlik, Jr. She will always be remembered and celebrated for her love, precious memories and showing her family how much she values each of them. Janet is also survived by her beautiful mother Patsy Deskins whom she cared for, loved, and cherished. Her siblings Linda (Mike) Baltes, Chuck (Sue) Deskins, and David (Holly) Deskins who always held a special place in her heart. Regarding all the additional lives she touched, there are too many beautiful relationships to mention who will always remember and celebrate Janet’s impact on their lives. We would love to have you join us in honoring the beautiful life that Janet shared and lived as we are led by James Phillips her pastor for: Calling hours will be Saturday January 6, 2024 from 11:00 Am until time of the 12 Noon Funeral services at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral homes 9781 Page Rd Streetsboro, Ohio 44241.  Burial will follow in Westlawn  Cemetery Mantua Twp., Ohio. Following the burial a Celebration of life will be held at Shalersville Township Hall 9090 St Rt 44 Ravenna, Ohio 44266. Condolences and memories of Janet may be shared with her family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
