Janet L (Fosburg) Mcmullen

Janet L. McMullen 1934 - 2023.  Janet L. McMullen 88 of Shalersville passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Akron City Hospital. She was born November 30, 1934 in Akron, Ohio to Floyd J. and Frances G. (Wilson) Fosburg. Janet has lived in Shalersville for the past 61 years.  She is survived by  her husband Harold E. McMullen.   Janet met Harold, a Kent Roosevelt Student, through friends, became high school sweethearts and married after she graduated from Stow High School.  That began their wonderful life together that lasted seventy years.  Janet always had a positive and cheerful outlook and spent her life caring for her family, both human and Schnauzers, whom she loved with all her heart.  She was a fantastic cook and baker as well as the ultimate hostess.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, crafting, sketching, painting and traveling.  She was a member of The Tallmadge Garden Club, The Ravenna Sorosis and The Red Hat Society.    Janet and Harold were very active in the Holiday Rambler Travel Trailer Club for thirty years.  They traveled extensively through-out the United States and Canada starting with travel trailers then graduating to a motorhome.  They made many life long friends with people they met along the way and had countless adventures.    Besides her husband she is survived by her children Kathleen (Roger) Graham, Larry (Rita Goodman) McMullen and Ron (Chris) McMullen, grandchildren Heather (Jameson) Maag, Evan Graham (McKenna Malicki), Chad (Jamie) McMullen, Nick McMullen, Melissa (Chris) Reye and Curtis McMullen and great grandchildren Hadlee, Graham and Lucas Maag, Anna McMullen, Abigail and Andrew Reye. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Jacqueline Haley, Geraldine Holly, James Fosburg and her grandson Curtis's wife Allyson McMullen.  In honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and private family memorial sevices have been held.
