Jean (Prater) Bennett

Jean Bennett, 76 of Ravenna went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 13, 2012 with her loving family at her side.   She was born June 26, 1935 in Fonde, KY to the late Roscoe and Rosa Lee Prater.  Jean attended the First Church of God in Ravenna and Christ Fellowship, Palm Beach Gardens, when visiting Florida.  Her favorite thing to do in the entire world was attend her grandchildren's sporting events. Family was her life. She lived everyday for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending her winter months in sunny Florida.  Survivors included her children, Elmer (Robin) Bennett of Tampa, FL, Debbie (Jerry) Knight of Ravenna, Rose (Joe) Matchett of Jupiter, FL, Billy Bennett Jr. of Palm  Harbor, FL, grandchildren, Michael Bennett, Tiffany Knight, Trevin Knight, Colin Knight, Billy Joe Bennett, great granddaughter, Brielle Autumn Bennett, sisters, Ann (Alva) Cunningham of Middlesboro, KY, Sue Carroll of Morristown, TN, brothers, Charles Prater and Jim Prater both of Middlesboro, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Bill Bennett , sister, Josephine Duncan, brothers, Jack , Herb, Boss, Ray, Franklin, Delano, Ed, and Elmer Prater.  Calling hours will be held from  2:30 - 4:30 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday, June 18, 2012 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel . The Funeral Service  will  be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at The First Church of God, 237 New Milford Road Ravenna, Ohio 44266. Rev. Edward Beck will be officiating.  Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery Ravenna .  The family would like to thank Ravenna Visiting nurse and hospice where memorials can be made in Jeans name.
