Jeffery L. "Smitty" Smith

Jeffrey L. "Smitty" Smith 45 of Windham  passed away Monday April 11, 2016 following a car accident in Ravenna.  He was born in Ravenna on June 20, 1970 to Donald H. Smith and Carolyn S. (Kimble) Smith.  Smitty has lived in Windham his whole life and  was a  1989 graduate from Windham High School.  He was self employed working in several different areas of construction from concrete work to laying hardwood floors. He was an avid sports enthusiast, Jeff started playing baseball at the age of 10 years old and was an all round athlete in high school  where he played basketball and football Lettering all four years in both sports , loved spending time with his family and had a heart of gold always willing to help others.  Survivors include his father Donald H. Smith of Windham, his mother Carolyn S. Smith of Windham, his siblings Donna (Mark) Vintson of Kent, John Smith of Ravenna,  Ron Smith of Windham, his grandmother Ella Kimble of Ravenna, his niece Shayla Purnell of Kent, his nephew Charles (Swedell Hollo) Simmons of Ravenna and great nephews Charles Avery and Carson Riley.  Survivors also include his Aunt Rachel (Joe) Lowe of Ravenna and  cousins Debbie (Scott) Anderson of Ravenna and Karen Lowe of Ravenna.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather John Kimble of West Virginia and cousin Joey Lowe of Ravenna.  Calling hours will be 2-4:30 PM Saturday April 16, 2016 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel with a time of sharing at 4:30PM.
