Jerry Coia of Ravenna passed away peacefully on September 12, 2021 at the Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland from Parkinson's Disease. He was born on July 17, 1936 to Albert and Rose (Trivelli) Coia.  He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie (Monroe) Coia. They would have celebrated 66 years of marriage on September 17. Also, surviving are their children, Michael (Jodie), Deborah (Dom) Giampietro, Shari (Coia) Fulton, daughter-in-law, Cathy Coia and his brother, Ray (Pat) Coia. He is survived by five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Don, grandson Brandon and sister Eleanor (Coia) Foushi. Jerry was a retired master carpenter, Union Local 285. He worked on many important projects including Akron General Medical Center, Akron Art Museum, the Baptist Church, Civic Theater, Firestone Country Club, Quaker Square and the Akron YMCA. He was a honored guest at Welty Builders 50th Anniversary Gala held at the Inventor's Hall of Fame in 1995.  Jerry and Marge visited their children and grandchildren in several states and especially enjoyed going to Italy, Germany and Paris, France. His hobby included crafting a doll house for his granddaughters, a rocking horse and other toys. He loved playing the accordian in his youth. After retirement, he spent most days working on his yard.  The family would like to thank the Hospice of the Western Reserve and Home Instead for their tender care. Thanks, also, to Guido's and Mobile Meals for their excellent meals.  A private family service will be held.
