Jerry Nestor Gay

Jerry Nestor Gay 69 of Rootstown, formerly of Ravenna, died Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the Woodlands at Robinson. He was born November 9, 1945 in Ravenna to Nestor and Hazel (Ingram) Gay. Jerry retired from Rick Kuntz Trucking in 2009 as a truck driver and was a member of the Ravenna Eagles and Ravenna Gun Club. Survivors include his daughter Peggy (Chris) Merry of Coeburn, VA, grandchildren Douglas and Terry Urnick Sr. and William and Kristie Love, great grandchildren Tyler Collins, Landon Williams, Ariana and Terry Urnick, Jr., Harold Juarez and Nevaeh and Cherish Stidham, sister Janet Thrasher of Rootstown and his cherished K-9 companion Sassy. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jerry Nestor Gay, Jr. and brother Jim Gay. Cremation has taken place, a graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Homeland Cemetery in Rootstown with Reverend William Snyder officiating. The family would like to thank the staff at the Woodlands for all their love and care for Jerry.
