Jo Ann (Franks) Rupert

Jo Ann (Franks) Rupert, of Ravenna, passed away at age 90 on Sunday, December 18, 2022. She was born August 18, 1932, in Ravenna, to the late Lillian J. (Raki) and Harold L. Franks. Jo Ann was married for 70 years to Robert C. Rupert (deceased) She is also a member of the "50 year plus" at Ravenna First Congregational Church. Jo created and operated the craft department at the Jack & Jill Shoppe in downtown Ravenna for many years.  She loved to dress up for the annual Crazy Daze Sale every July and to hold craft booths at the Randolph Fair. Jo was an accomplished artist and continued crafting beautiful items for family and friends. Survivors include children: Deborah (Dave) Petrone, Bonney (Chris) Walther, Melissa Klinesmith, David (Debbie) Rupert as well as ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Patricia Halby and brother-in-law Varden McAlpine. Calling hours will be from 10:00 - 11:00am Monday, January 9, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church of Ravenna (263 S. Prospect Street) followed immediately by the funeral service at 11:00am with Reverend Jerry Kruse officiating. There will be a lunch in Jo's honor hosted by the UCC Women's Circle immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Haven of Portage County or the Portage County Animal Protective League.
