Joan C (Watts) Sawyer

Joan C. Sawyer, 79 of Ravenna, passed away Wednesday February 17, 2021 at Vista Verande in Ravenna.  She was born July 20, 1941 in Edwhite, West Virginia to the late Cecil J and Ada M. (Southard) Watts.  Joan has lived in Ravenna most of her life and had worked at Oak Rubber. Being born in West Virginia she was a coal miners daughter.   Her family considered her  a strong and independent woman, who had a great sense of humor that loved listening to bluegrass music, singing and dancing.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Monte Watts, Sr and Marlena Lesho.  Survivors include her boyfriend of 38 years, Tony Richards, her children Jim (Fury Rusinow) Sawyer of Strongsville, Tom Sawyer, Brenda K. (Rick Owens) Sawyer, David Sawyer all of Ravenna,  her grandchildren Sandy, Nancy, Kristen, Tommi, Kylee, seven great grandchildren and siblings John Watts and Judy Thompson.  Calling hours will be 6-8 PM Friday February 19, 2021 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel where funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday February 20, 2021 with Rev.
