Joann (Gilly) Townend

JoAnn Gilly Townend, 67 of Ravenna, passed away Friday, August 30, 2024, at the UH Portage Medical Center. JoAnn was born on August 1, 1957, in Ravenna to her late parents Arthur and Helen (Fedorchak) Gilly. She dedicated 47 years working for Portage County, where she was the Director of Internal Services when she retired and was the Rootstown Fiscal Officer for 30 years. She was a member Immaculate Conception Church. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Townend, whom she married on October 18, 1997. Her loving brothers Arthur (Frances (Jeannie)) Gilly, Stephen Gilly and Mark (Debi) Gilly. She adored and loved her nieces and nephews Carrie (Kris), Tabatha (Vince) and Matthew (Emily) and the joys of her life were her great nephews and niece Nathan, Nikolus, Levi, Braxton, Leo and Letty. She will be deeply missed by many family members, friends and coworkers. Per her request, cremation has taken place and private family services have been held.
