John Albert Smith 79 of Ravenna died Tuesday, June 10, 2014. he was born November 29, 1934 in Altoona, PA to Sam Smith and Anna (Vanderpool). John retired from Stamm Contracting and loved hunting, fishing, camping and trips to Canada. Survivors include his daughters Charlotte (Gary) McFarland and Patricia (John) Dolin, sons John (Melissa) Smith, Robert Smith and Terry (Chris) Walker, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Vernadine Taylor and betty Jacobs and brother Donald Smith. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Monday, June 16, 2014 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna with Reverend William Snyder officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.
