John Allen Danes

John A. Danes 65 of Palmyra died Monday, October 15, 2012 at Akron General Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born December 19, 1946 in Ravenna, Ohio to Dominic and Eleanor (Zinkand) Danes. John was a resident of Edinburg and Palmyra for the past 38 years and worked as a machinist for CL Gougler Industries in Kent. He attended Deerfield Evangelical Friends Church, loved to hunt, spend time with his family and watch his grandchildren play sports. Survivors include his wife of 46 years Carol A. (Singleton), daughter Michelle (Glen Jr.) Stutzman of Brimfield, son John (Dreamma) Danes of Palmyra, grandchildren Jordan Danes, Heather Harvey, Ashley Young, Dominic Danes, Ryan Stutzman and Brendan Danes, great grandchildren Ryleigh, Bailey and Zachary, sister Julie Ann (Harold) Brooks of Ravenna and brother Paul (Barb) Danes of Ravenna. He was preceded in death by his parents and son and daughter in law Jamie and Emily Danes in September of 2012. Memorial calling hours will be from 5 - 7 PM Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. A memorial service will take place at 7 PM Thursday with Pastor Jody Hill officiating.
