John R. Denison

John R. Denison 64 of Ravenna died Thursday, March 10, 2011. He was born July 15, 1946 in Ravenna to Mark and Francis (Kline) Denison. A lifelong Ravenna resident, he was a veteran of the US Marines, retired from ODOT after 28 years as a signal electrician supervisor. John was a proud member of AA, with a sobriety date of October 29, 1982 and was a member of the Ravenna Tuesday Night Home Group. He hosted the Wednesday Night Guy Night at his house and it was the support of all his friends standing by him that got him through the tough times. Survivors include his wife of 45 years Beverly (Dunkle), daughter Sherry (James) DeLair of Ravenna, 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and sisters Mary (Dave) Browers of Deerfield and Janie (Denny) Willgues of Cuyahoga Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Mark, grandsons Mark and Tom and brother Tom. Calling hours will be from 4 - 9 PM Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday , March 15, 2011 at the funeral home with Reverend Michael Doak officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna .
