John P. "Jack"Miley, Sr. 83 of Rootstown died Thursday, September 8, 2011. He was born March 5, 1928 in Parma Heights, OH to the late Charles and Gertrude (Linnen) Miley. A Rootstown resident for the past 73 years, he wintered in Florida for 19 years with cherished friends and family. Mr. Miley was a Greyhound Bus Driver, a salesman for Borden's and Sealtest and had sold real estate. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna, served in the Merchant Marines, US Army in WWII and US Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of the Ravenna VFW #1055. Survivors include his wife of 58 years Eloise T. (Luli), daughters Jill Trexler (Richard) of Washington, MI and Terri (Larry) Seneski of Valley View, OH, sons Jack (Chris) of Concord, OH, David (Claudia) of Rootstown and Tim (Chris) of Rootstown, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Charles, Robert, William and Thomas Miley. Calling hours will from 2 - 6 PM Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Monday, September 12, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna with Father John Michael Lavelle officiating.
