John C. Schultz

John C. Schultz, 63 of Streetsboro, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022 at his residence. John was born November 20, 1958 in Boston, Massachusetts to Gordon Merrifield and Judith (Schimandle) Merrifield. He was a proud service member of the United States Air Force and had worked as a claims customer service agent at Progressive Insurance. John enjoyed restoring old cars winning several trophies, Lionel trains and vintage firearms. He is preceded in death by his father Gordon Merrifield, step-father Frank Schultz, and half-brother James Merrifield. John is survived by his wife Amy E. Schultz, his mother Judith Schimandle, children Tina M. (David) Pelsnik, step-children William J. Sos, Jr., and Tammy E. (Alex) Sos-Bentz, grandchildren Matthew Comey, William J. Sos, III, Robert L. Sos, Tina M. Pelsnik, Jr., Alexander D. Pelsnik, his siblings Lance (Delia) Schultz, Sr., Dawn Schultz-Falandes, Heather (Michael) Iacofano and half-brother Dean Merrifield. Per his request, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place October 1, 2022 from 2:00 PM -6:00 PM at the Manor Lodge @ Punderson State Park in Newbury, Ohio . In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
