John C. Taylor

John C. Taylor 68 of Palmyra Twp., passed away Monday February 21, 2011 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. He was born October 22, 1942 in Jenkins, KY to the late Sherman and Nora (Damron) Taylor. He has lived in Portage County most of his life and had retired from Rotek where he worked as a machinist. Mr. Taylor was a veteran of the US Army, a member of the NRA and enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets. Survivors include his wife of 37 years Linda "Lynn" (Foster) Taylor, sons Barry Allen (Stephanie) Eckert of Medina, TN., Todd (laura) Taylor of Charleston, SC, Terry Taylor of Diamond, OH, Robert (Amy) Eckert of Hamboldt, TN, Shawn Taylor of Brimfiled, daughter Tracy (Tim Shamblin) Baird of Diamond, OH, 19 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, sister Dorsey Dent of Ravenna, sister in laws Nancy Giannini of Fairlawn and Marylou Priest of Ravenna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Chuck Taylor and sister Ruth A Wall. At his request, cremation has taken place, memorial calling hours will be Thursday February 24, 2011 from 5 PM until time of Funeral services at 7:30 PM st the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel with Rev. Virgil Elkins officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in West Cemetery Palmyra Twp., Ohio.
