John "Red" W Storey

John W. "Red" Storey, 81, of Rootstown, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022 after several months of declining health.  Red was born on July 21, 1940 in Allison, Pennsylvania to the late Wilbur and  Clara Jane (Kuhns) Storey.  He has lived in Rootstown since 1967, where he was a volunteer fireman for the Rootstown Fire Department and a Transportation Supervisor for Rootstown Local Schools.  Red is a US Marine Corp veteran and a proud lifetime member of the MCL Chesty Puller Detachment #269 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four sisters.  Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Bettie J. (Lowden) Storey, his children Cynthia L Royer, John W. Storey II & James W. Storey, 5 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Private family services were held at Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna, Ohio.  Condolences and memories of Red may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
