John J. Wells, Sr.

John J. "Johnboy" Wells, Sr. 78 of Rootstown passed away Sunday April 26, 2015 at his residence.  He was born May 26, 1936 in Palmyra,  PA to the late Jacob and Mary (Rodkey) Wells.  Johnboy has lived in Rootstown the past 20 years and was formerly of Streetsboro.  He was a retired truck driver and enjoyed playing cards, fishing, bowling and liked to fool around on his CB radio and had a heart of gold where he loved to laugh.  Survivors include his children John (Mary Ann) wells, Jr, Thomas Wells, Richard Wells, Katherine, Karen and Renee, numerous grandchildren , sister Janet Tursie and his close friends whom he called his three wives, Nancy Wilson, Betty McCartney and Ann Marie Levitsky.    In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy wells, his son Shawn Wells and his 1/2 brother George Texter.  Calling hours will be  TODAY Tuesday April 28, 2015 from 10:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.  Burial will take place at 2:00 PM in All Souls Cemetery Chardon, Ohio.
