Joseph James Beck

Joseph James Beck, 90 of Edinburg, passed away on Friday December 24, 2021 at his home.  On March 5, 1931 in Sandstone, West Virginia Joseph was born  to the late Carl and Alice (O'Conner) Beck.  Living in Edinburg since 1967 , Joseph was a retired Iron Worker out of Iron Workers Local 17 and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.  He was a veteran of  the US Army serving his county in WW II.  He was involved with the Cortland Moose, the Ravenna American Legion and the Ravenna VFW.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Cecilia N. Beck on January 9, 2003.  Survivors include his son Craig (Jacquelyn ) beck, his grandsons Joseph E. and Steven M and sister Betty Melesky.  Calling hours will be Thursday December 30, 2021 from 12 pm until time of funeral services at 1:00 pm at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.  He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Edinburg Cemetery Edinburg Twp., Ohio following the services.  Condolences and memories of Joseph may be shared with his family www.sscfuneralhomes.com.   The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations please  be made to the Portage County APL or the Ravenna American Legion.
