Joseph "Joe" George Olesh, 86, of Streetsboro, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the Cleveland Clinic, Twinsburg Campus. He was born on September 12, 1927 in Puritan, Pennsylvania to the late, Mike and Marie (Suhar) Olesh, Sr. Joe was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church and a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War. He had a love for cabinetry work, traveling, casinos and spending time with his family and friends. Joe was retired from Ford Motor Company, where he worked for 30 years as a material handler. He is survived by his children, Marla (Charles) Trimmer of Mentor, Kevin (Glenda) Olesh of Mogadore, Neal Olesh of Kent, Lisa Olesh of N. Lima, Brian (Mary) Olesh of Kent, Janice (Rich) Knotek of Streetsboro, and Jeannie (Joe) Leno of Elyria; daughter-in-law, Audrey (Papp) Olesh of Shalersville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; very, very dear friend, Violet Hartman of Streetsboro; sisters, Joanne Ozanich of Brunswick and Marie Koposko of Uniontown, PA; and brother, John Olesh of Mentor. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his first wife, Valetta; his second wife, Bernadine; his son, Joseph Olesh Jr.; sister, Dolores Martoncik; and brother, Mike Olesh. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1-5 PM at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home, Streetsboro Chapel. A funeral will be held on Monday at 11AM at St. Joan of Arc Church, with Fr. Pat Ferraro officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Crossroads Hospice, 9775 Rockside Rd., Suite 270, Valley View, OH 44125.
