Joseph A. Svette, Sr. 96 of Newton Falls, formerly of Streetsboro, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Longmeadow Care Center in Ravenna. He was born April 26, 1918 in Cleveland, OH to Frank and Mary (Muhl) Svette. Joseph was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro, a US Army Air Force veteran of WWII and retired from Testa Builders where he was a welder. Survivors include his sons Joseph (Shirley) Svette, Jr. of Newton Falls and Albert (Sharon) Svette of Lorain, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Eleanor M. Svette in 2006, daughter Ellen Huntsman, granddaughter Melanie Huntsman, 6 sisters and 5 brothers. A memorial mass will be held at 11 AM Saturday, April 18, 2015 at St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro with friends received one hour prior to the mass. Father Pat Ferraro will officiate. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel.
