Joy L. Anderson, 63 of Kent passed away Monday January 15, 2018 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio. She was born January 21, 1954 in Coldwater, Ohio to Jerry and Shirley (James ) Hemmelgarn. Mrs. Anderson has lived in Kent most of her life and had worked for the Record Courier as a secretary. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her siblings Frank Hemmelgarn, Janice Decker and Kim Harvey. Survivors include her father Jerry Hemmelgarn of Kent, her husband Daniel Anderson whom she married June 16, 1973, her children Jeremy (Tracie) Anderson of Cuyahoga Falls, Mindy (Garon) Niehaus of Kent, six grandchildren, Spencer, Madison, Griffin, Lauren, Ethan, Tyler and siblings Beth Hemmelgarn and John Hemmelgarn.
