Julia M. "Jay" Blasiole

Julia M. "Jay" Blasiole, 89, a 62 year resident of Streetsboro passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025. She was born October 15, 1935 in Mather, PA to Steve and Helen (Pogan) Szopo. Jay was a playground supervisor for 25 years at Campus Elementary School in Streetsboro and spent many years at Blasiole's Pizza making her famous lasagna. Survivors include her children Louie Michael (Chris) Blasiole, Jr., Debbie (Rich) Pierro, Joseph Steven (Christine) Blasiole and Jack (Nicki) Blasiole, 9 grandchildren (Ashley, Nick, Christopher, Matt, Maria, Alyssa, Louie, Nate and Jackie), 3 great grandchildren (Noah, Louie and Jonathan) and siblings Helen Shimet, Esther Huffman, Mary Phillips, Barbara Moore and Rosie Custer. She is now reunited with the love of her life, Louie M. Blasiole after 35 years.  She was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers Chuck, Louis and John Szopo. Cremation has taken place. Memorial calling hours will be from 10 AM until time of a celebration of life at 12 PM on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at St. Joan of Arc Church Fellowship Hall, 8894 State Route 14, Streetsboro, Ohio. Pastor Mike Mager will officiate. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
