Julia Louise (Ruckman) Canan

Julia (Judy) L. Canan 87 of Ravenna passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 25, 1929 in Akron, Ohio to Fred and Rhea (Campbell) Ruckman. A Ravenna resident since 1960, she was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and had been a librarian for Kent State University. Survivors include her daughters Karen (Chuck) Early of Parma Heights and Linda (Rick) Pepera of Macedonia, sons Reverend David (Anne) Canan of Ambler, PA and Michael (Kay) Canan of Ravenna, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Ellsworth Canan, Jr. Memorial calling hours will be held fro 9:30 AM until time of memorial service at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Grace Episcopal Church in Ravenna. Judy requested that everyone wear bright colors to her funeral. A luncheon reception will follow the church service in the church hall. Private burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna.
