Karen F. (Cummings) Svoboda

Karen F. Svoboda, 72 of Ravenna passed away Wednesday May 21, 2014 at the Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio.  She was born February 8, 1942 in Webster Springs, WV to the late Emerson Cummings and Laura (Williams) Cummings-Moats.  Mrs. Svoboda has been in Portage County since  1964 and was formerly of West Virginia.  She retired from Colonial Rubber in Ravenna where she worked as a finisher.  She loved her dog, Chico, camping and spending time with her grandkids.  Survivors include her sons Bruce (Michelle) Svoboda of Ravenna, Michael Svoboda of Ravenna, Edgard Hall, James Hall, Earl Hall all of West Virginia,  14 grandchildren.   Also surviving are her siblings Aaron (Shelly) Moats of Ravenna, Frances Holcomb of Ravenna and Linda McAleer of Middleburg Hts.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas in 1987, her daughter Brenda Ann in 1972, her sister Regenia Bostwick and half brother Denzil Cummings.  Calling hours will be 5-8 PM Friday May 23, 2014 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel where funeral services will be 11:00 Am Saturday May 24, 2014 with Don Kainrad officiating.  Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park Ravenna, Ohio.  Condolences and memories  may be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
