Karen M Mendiola

Karen M. Mendiola, 84 of Rootstown, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at her residence. Karen was born on October 13, 1941 in Bellaire, Ohio to her late parents Dale and Geraldine (Baker) Neff.

Karen, lovingly called “Meme” by her grandchildren, cherished spending time with her family, loved baking and cooking family recipes, golfing with friends, and cheering for Cleveland sports. She worked as the secretary at the Rootstown Water Department for 39 years, and attended St. Peter of the Fields Church and the Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her husband George Mendiola, her son George Mendiola II, and her sister Judy White. She is survived by her daughter Beth Mendiola, grandchildren Anthony (Sara) Schmidt, Elizabeth (Kevin) Memmer, Nicole (Tony) Hedberg and Taylor Mendiola, great grandchildren Dominic, Torri, Hailey, Vincent, Madison, Payton, Issabella and Ivy, and her sister Kathy Rafferty. Her absence will be deeply felt. In honoring Karen's request, cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 11:00AM.
