Katherine "Katie" Rae Iarussi

Katherine Rae "Katie" Iarussi 20 of Rootstown passed away Sunday December 4, 2011 following an automobile accident. She was born February 8, 1991 in Ravenna to Ralph and Brenda (Haldio) Iarussi. Katie has lived in Roostown her whole life, graduating from Rootstown High School in 2009. She was attending Kent State University where she was an Art Major, was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna , was working for Macy's in Stow /Kent and her passion was playing the piano. Survivors include her parents Ralph and Brenda of Rootstown, her sister McKenzie Iarussi, her grandparents Chuck & Janet Brode, aunts & uncles Robert (Sharon) Haldio, Connie (Don) Wilburn, Susan Dean, Mark & Mary Cianchetti, Tom & Debbie Tortorella, Jim & Phyllis Coll, Godparents Mary & Phil Porter, special cousin Joanie Haldio, her boy friend David Dalessandro, special friends Shana Varner, Kirsten Stoner, Samantha Mullins, Bridgette Miller, Ashley Just, Stephanie Dye, Rachel Michaels and numerous cousins and friends. Calling hours will be Thursday December 8, 2011 from 4-8 PM at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Friday December 9, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Church Ravenna with Father John Michael Lavelle Officiating. Entombment will be in St. Mary Cemetery Ravenna, Ohio. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Katherine Rae Iarussi  Art Scholarship Fund C/O Portage Community Bank Ravenna or Kent Locations.
