Kathryn L. "Kathy" (Slack) Kehres

Kathryn L. "Kathy" Kehres 59 of Diamond died Saturday, August 9, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 27, 1955 in Ravenna to Bruce and Goldie (McPeak) Slack. Kathy was a resident of Diamond for the past 36 years, was the assistant treasurer for Southeast Local Schools and a member of Deerfield Evangelical Friends Church, where she and her husband served as youth leaders for many years. Survivors include her husband of 39 years Greg Kehres, daughter Emily Kehres of Cuyahoga Falls, sons Adam (Amanda) Kehres of Diamond and Andrew Kehres of Paris Township, mother Goldie Slack of Edinburg, grandchildren Jacob, Matthew, Brooke, Calan and Ella, sister Karen Warwood of Edinburg and brother Dan Slack of Edinburg. She was preceded in death by her father Bruce Slack and a brother Larry Slack.  Kathy will be remembered as a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. Also for her fighting spirit and smile, that she had until the very end. She will be deeply missed by all of those whose lives were touched by knowing her. Calling hours will be from 5 PM to 8 PM on Monday, August 11, 2014 at Deerfield Evangelical Friends Church. Funeral services will be at 10 AM on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at the church with Reverend Jody Hill and Pastor Randy Heckert officiating. Burial will follow in West Cemetery in Palmyra. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.
