Kathy Schell

Kathy (Rhoda) Schell, age 75 of Miami Township, passed away on October 11, 2017. Kathy was born on January 6, 1942 in Jackson, Ohio to the late Betty Hall. Kathy graduated from Wilbur Wright High School. She volunteered at Bus Stop Bingo and at the Developmental Center for Handicapped Children for many years. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Jack Schell, and by their children Donna (Tim) Winkler, Darrell (Kamie) Schell, and Jackie (Jeff) Rood. Her memory is cherished by her 9 grandchildren whom she spoiled; Amanda Corey, Jennifer Swabb, Darren Schell, Kayla Schell, Chip Harbaugh, Kyle Winkler, Jessica Collins, Kaitlin Schell, and Hayley Winkler, and 4 great-grandchildren; Emma, Lilly, Karlee, and Isabella. She is also survived by her brother Frank Hall, and brother-in-law Thomas Schell, and by many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents-in-law Norwood and Mary Schell, and brother-in-law Robert (Dolores) Schell, sister-in-law Sharon Schell, and by her beloved cat, Surely. Kathy enjoyed reading, playing slot machines in Vegas and on the riverboat, WWE, NASCAR (Sterling Marlin), fishing at her family farm, and her afternoon soap operas, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Kathy will be remembered for her ability to crochet the most beautiful afghans, and for her homemade dinners especially her roast beef, and made from scratch noodles. She was the cool mom, who taught all the neighborhood kids how to roller-skate and ride their bikes.  As per her wish cremation has taken place, with a private family memorial. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Miamisburg Public Library. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sanner Funeral Home. Remember Kathy by drinking a coca cola.
