Kenneth H. Kindig

Reverend Kenneth H. Kindig 90 of Ravenna died Friday, December 14, 2012. He was born April 24, 1922 in Franklin Township, PA to John and Mildred (Hayman) Kindig. A Ravenna resident since 1959, he had served as pastor of the First Christian Church in Ravenna for 28 years. He was a US Army veteran of WWII and a former member of Ravenna Rotary. Survivors include his daughters Linda Douglas of Granville, OH, Judy (Paul) Gillespie of Winston-Salem, NC and Joy (Neal) Nelson of Mentor, OH, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sister Shirley McHenry of Stillwater, PA and brothers Robert and Richard Kindig of Stillwater, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Lois Jeanne (Beishline) in 1993, his parents, sister Vivian Karns, brother Roy Kindig and son-in-law Daniel C Douglas. Calling hours will be from 4 - 8 PM Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the First Christian Church, 420 S. Prospect Street in Ravenna, Ohio and Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 10 AM to time of service at 11 AM at the church with Rev. Perry Mattern officiating. Calling hours and funeral services at St. James Church in Stillwater, PA will be held on Friday December 21, 2012 from 12:30 PM to services at 2 PM. Burial will follow in St. James Church Cemetery in Stillwater, PA. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, 420 S. Prospect Street, Ravenna, OH 44266.
