Kevin A Davis

Ravenna, Ohio

Kevin Allen Davis was born January 9, 1960 to Essie Mae Maxwell and George Davis of Ravenna, Ohio.  Kevin found the Lord at early age under the leadership of the late Rev. B Sadler and First Lady Annie Bell Sadler his grandparents. He was a member of the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, until the family was called to bring the word of God to First Baptist Church of Windham.  Kevin attended Ravenna public school. He was a basket ball football and track participant until he graduated in 1980. He would meet some of his lifelong friends from the sports that he participated in.  Kevin was employed in the CETA program from the age of 13 until 18. He was also employed by Portage Co as a custodian for 5 years. Kevin went on to become a building custodian for the Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority until his passing. He was always making sure that the residents had a clean and beautiful building to call home.  Kevin was a founding member of the organization Men of Change of  Akron. They would mentor young men in the area. They would provide guidance from a father figure. While trying to show them that they have a support system to succeed.

Kevin was a good and faithful servant to his church family and  Rev. Dreese of the First Grace Church Copley, Ohio. He never put his needs or want first he always looked out for his fellow man. He lived serving God until his last breath.  Kevin is preceded in death by Essie Mae(Mother) George Davis(Father)

Barbara Maxwell and Harilyn Kirklin-Latimer(Sisters) Rev. B. Sadler and Annie Bell Sadler(Grandparents) Sara Hadden-Jackson(Aunt) Tamara Lott(Niece) Dwayne Lott(Nephew) David L. Vance and Filmore Lott( Brother-In-Laws).  He is survived by K.Allen A. Davis of Ravenna, Kristian Davis of Akron, Grandchild Nicole Stevens of Ravenna. Brothers Leverne(Marilyn), Delmar, Athony, Dwight, Greg, Harold ,George and Lil Tony, Mark(Amber).  Sisters Debra, Deborah, Rena (Jerry) Tandaleyo, Antionetta.  His Godson Luther Fortson lll. Nieces, nephews and his extended family and friends who knew him and loved him.  His best friends Luther Fortson Jr., Alvin Clark, Ike Hill, Kevin Lee, Sam Nash, Milton Foster and the late Nathaniel Dendy Jr.  Calling hours will be  11:00 AM Saturday July 8, 2023 until time of funeral services at 12 Noon at the United Church of Jesus Christ in Ravenna, Ohio.  Condolences and memories of Kevin may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
