Larry W Nelson, Sr.

Larry W. Nelson, Sr. 82 of Streetsboro, passed away Monday February 6, 2023 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio.  On March 19, 1940 in Boone County, West Virginia, Mr. Nelson was born to the late Hershel and Alice (Browning) Nelson.  He was a salesman for Crucible Specialty Metals, where he retired in 1999 after 37 years of service.  Being an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in his yard.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Linda Brake and Bruce Nelson.  Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Doris A. (Hager) Nelson whom he married June 16, 1962, his children Moneica Brown, Larry Nelson, Jr., daughter in law Christine Nelson,  grandchildren Alyssa (Chad) Tooley,  Stephanie (John) Earnest, Michael (Ashley Malicki) Gokey, Jr., Shawn (Heather) Gokey, Hershel (Haley Bader) Nelson, Jason Gokey,  great grandchildren Brooklynn, Brianna, Brayden, Madison, Keighan, Leah, Dean, Riverlynn and Oliver on the way and his siblings Phyllis Cobert, Ruth Hager, Tami Spurlock.  In honoring his request, cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life service will be held by his family.  Condolences and memories of Larry may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
