Leland A. Locke 81 of Deerfield, went home to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his family on Friday August 5, 2011 at his residence. He was born February 11, 1930 in Salem,, WVA to the late Arch and Eunice A. (Rexroad) Locke. Mr. Locke has lived in Deerfield the past six years and has lived in Portage County since 1963 in various places. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Korea, was a member of the Full Gospel House of Prayer and retired in 1992 from the Keibler-Thompson Corp. where he worked as an operating Engineer. Survivors include his wife Etta (Davisson) Locke whom he married October 14, 1950, son Danny (Kim) Locke of Deerfield , daughters Robin (Reubin) Close of Palmyra, Christy Locke of Akron, five grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother William and sisters Edith Hamilton and Lorene Locke. Calling hours will be 2-4 Sunday August 7, 2011 at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday August 8, 2011 at the Full Gospel House of Prayer on St Rt 43 in Streetsboro. Burial and Military Honors will take place at West Cemetery Palmyra Twp., Ohio. The family requests memorials to the American Heart Association and or American Cancer Society.
