Leon Gene Hanning, Sr.

Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather Leon Gene Hanning, Sr. 90 of Streetsboro passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Grande Village in Twinsburg, Ohio. He was born December 1, 1932 in Denbow, PA to Frank and Minnie Mae (Miller) Hanning. Leon was a US Marine Corp veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Frost Road Chapel, the Ravenna American Legion #331 and the Aurora VFW #2629. He worked as a welder for United Manufacturing and as a clerk for Dairy Mart in Aurora. Survivors include his daughter Patty (Scott) Dabbs, daughter in law Annette Hanning, grandchildren Laura, Michael (Leslie) and Robert (Jeannine), great grandchildren Joshua (Rema), Megan, Hunter and Juliana and a great-great grandchild Abel. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Julia, son Leon Hanning, Jr. great-great grandson Thomas, and 2 sisters and 6 brothers. Calling hours will be from 11 AM until time of funeral services at 1 PM Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel.
