Leon Gerald Jankowski

Leon G. Jankowski 88 of Kent, formerly of Streetsboro, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023 at UH Portage Medical Center. He was born September 24, 1934 in Wilkes Barre, PA to Stanley and Julia (Codosky) Jankowski. Leon attended Joan of Arc Church, was a US Army veteran, a member of the Knights of Columbus (4th Degree), served on the Streetsboro Chamber of Commerce, Streetsboro Councilman for Ward 4 and Chairman of the Service Committee. He was King of Streetsboro in 2018. He worked as a bartender most of his life, and most recently worked for RSVP where he delivered meals to seniors. Survivors include his daughter Diane (Jeffrey) Mares and granddaughter Kelsa Mares. Many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Stanley, Walter and sister Sophia and his companion Wilma Kmetz. Memorial calling hours will be from 2 PM until time of memorial services at 6 PM Friday, March 10, 2023 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. Knights of Columbus services will be held at 5:45 PM Friday. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the Portage County APL, PO Box 927, Ravenna, Ohio 44266.
