Leona C. (Ford) Swales

Leona C. Swales, 92, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living in Ravenna, Ohio. Leona was born September 13, 1926 in Jackson, PA to the late John and Jenny (Hess) Ford. Leona lived in Kent for more than 70 years and worked at Robinson Memorial Hospital  in the restaurant  for auxiliary. She was a member of the Lake Brady United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading and doing puzzles. She is survived by her children Dolly (Rodney) Gilbert, Georgia Phillabaum, Carolyne Swales and Larry Swales,  brother Maurice Ford, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband John Swales and siblings John Jr, Harry, Glen, Paul, Elsie, Sylvan, and Sarah. A graveside service will be held Friday December 21, 2018 at 1:00PM at Grandview Cemetery in Ravenna Township. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.
