Lincoln Gibson III, 85, of Ravenna, formerly of Streetsboro, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the Emeritus of Ravenna. He was born on June 18, 1928 in Cherry Tree, PA to the late, Lincoln and Elda (Detwiler) Gibson II. Lincoln was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. He attended the First Baptist Church of Streetsboro and was retired from Lamson Sessions in Kent, where he was a machine operator. Lincoln was also a member of the Streetsboro American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon (Stephen) Rawson of San Antonio, Texas; grandsons, Troy Ruyten, Patrick (Stephanie) Rawson, and Sean (Kara) Rawson; great-grandchildren, Mayla and Lilah Rawson; and sister, Bonnie Pittman of PA. In addition to his parents, Lincoln was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Douglas) Gibson; sisters, Margaret Rumsey and Judy Stanick; and brother, Donald Gibson. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6PM at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home, Streetsboro Chapel. And again on Monday from 4-8 PM at the Rairigh Funeral Home, 18944 Pennsylvania 286, Hillsdale, PA 15746 , where the funeral service will be held. Interment will follow in Uniontown Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
