Linda D. Balzer, 62 of Newton Falls passed away Monday April 1, 2013 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Warren, Ohio following a long battle with cancer. She was born March 3, 1951 in Buckhannon, WVA to the late Denzel Carpenter and Rosa (Morris) Carpenter-Bennett. Linda has lived in Newton Falls since 1999 and was formerly of Windham. She enjoyed her grandkids, playing bingo and making qulits, where she belonged to the Project Linus Quilt Club in Warren. She also loved riding motorcycles and her trips to West Virginia. Survivors include her children Rob (Amy) McPherson of Canton, Adam Balzer, Sara Balzer both of Newton Falls, , her grandchildren Helen and Hannah McPherson, Alyssa Bell, Amy and Daniel "D.J." Balzer. She is a sister to Roy (Linda) Carpenter of Warren and Mellany Wooten of Ravenna and a sister in law to Ted (Lynn OBlinger) Balzer, who also took care of her, William (Betty ) Balzer, Pearl (Scott) Stepp, Sharyn McCurdy, Frances (Tom) Strock, Doris Ferraro and an Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Denzil Carpenter, her mother and step father Rose and Russell Bennett, her husband Daniel Balzer, her daughter Faith Balzer, her brother Russell Bennett and sister Barbara Blewitt. Calling hours wil be 5:00 PM Thursday April 4, 2013 until time of funeral services at 6:30 PM with Rev. Larry Engle officiating at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.
