Louis A. Miller

January 7, 1926 — April 22, 2010

Louis A. Miller, 78, of Ravenna, passed away in his home after a long illness. He was born on January 7, 1926 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to the late Lewis and Madeline (Seida) Lewis. Louis served in the ETO 26th Division U.S. Army Infantry under General Patton during WWII. He also served in the Army of Occupation in Germany. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and taught RCIA classes, he was a Eucharistic Minister for the sick, sang in the New Life Choir, and a member of the prayer group. Louis was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, he enjoyed painting and model ship building. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Catherine (Sheridan) Miller, of Ravenna; daughters, Mary Ann (Don) Summers of Iselin, New Jersey, Patricia (Steve) Parsons of Lynchburg, Virginia, Jacqueline Miller of Ravenna, and Susan Miller of Berkley, California; sons, Louis (Elaine) Miller of Cumberland, Rhode Island, Michael (Becky) Miller of Jacksonville, Florida, and Christopher (Sheila) Miller of Turlock, California; son-in-law, Jack Millea of Ravenna; grandchildren, Jonathan, Karen and Kristen Millea, Shannon, Ashley, Amber and Steven Parsons, Jarrod, Jeremy and Rebecca Summers, Matt and Lou Miller, Michael, Patrick, Melanie and Bobby Miller, Tim Crowley, and Nathan and Brian Todd; great-grandchildren, Britni, Tyler, Matthew, and Michael Miller and Nathan Christopher Todd; sister, Peggy Ruggiero of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania; and brothers, Tommy Miller of Lancaster, California, Danny Miller, Denver, Colorado, and Bobby Miller of Kingston, Pennsylvania. In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his daughter Kathleen Millea and son, David Miller.  Calling Hours will be held on Sunday from 4-8 PM at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11AM at Immaculate Conception Church. Entombment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Robinson Memorial Hospital Hospice and Visiting Nurse Association, 6847 N. Chestnut Street, Ravenna, OH 44266.
