Lucille H (Hartung) Linton

Lucille H Linton, 89 of Rootstown passed away July 21, 2011 at her home. Born Jan. 13, 1922 in New Milford, OH to the late Edward & Hazel (Taylor) Hartung. She graduated from Rootstown Schools and attended Bohecker Business College and worked as secretary for the Ravenna Arsenal, Twin Coach, Rootstown High School and Enduro Rubber. Active with her friends in the Rootstown Sewing Club, she had been an avid bowler, loved playing cards by the hours with her dear friends and the past two years played on a Bocce Ball league at the Ravenna Moose. As member of the First Congregational Church UCC in Rootstown she was active with the Afternoon Womens Fellowship and could always be counted on to bake a few pies and help with church dinners. Survivors include her daughter, Lorraine Linton, son Brett (Brenda) Linton of Ravenna, grandchildren, Briana (Jeremy Denning), Brooke Linton, Brian Wolff, Blair Linton, Bryce Linton and great grandson Ryder Denning. brothers, Robert (Ann) Hartung of Fort Myers, FL, Earl (Sandy) Hartung of Ravenna, and a special friend Max Carpenter of Rootstown,  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin E. Linton , grandson Brad Linton, brothers, Ray, Harold, and Leslie Hartung.  Calling hours will be held Monday, July 25, 2011 from 7 - 9 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home  Ravenna Chapel.  Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 26, 2011 with Dr. Walter Carven officiating.  Burial will be in Homeland Cemetery, Rootstown following the service.  Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association.
