M Marie Miller

M. Marie Miller went to the Lord December 31, 2010 at the age of 86. She was the daughter of the late John and Kate (Schoesler) Miller. She had no siblings; close cousins are Kathryn Nicholson of Utah, Thomas (Linda) Kolesar and Robert Kolesar both of Arizona. Marie was a certified medical technician and state certified social worker. As a medical technician, she worked at St. Lukes Hospital, began a medical lab in Portage County and later became involved in social work serving years at Portage County Welfare Department and Executive Director of Kent Social Services for 21 years. She was a board member for Alpha Enterprises and started the Salvation Army in Ravenna. She was a true servant of the Lord, always putting others needs ahead of her own and was known as Portage County’s Mother Theresa. Marie was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Windham, Ohio. Calling hours will be from 10:30 AM to time of services at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Fr. Leo Wehrlin and Fr. James Lang will officiate. Entombment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Ravenna. In lieu of flowers contribute to a charity of your choice.
