Mamie (Davis) Wright

Mamie Lee (Davis) Wright, 93, transitioned quietly and peacefully into the loving arms of The Most High on Monday, February 5, 2024 at her home in Ravenna, Ohio, following a sudden illness.

Mamie was born on July 28, 1930 and in Starksville, Mississippi. Mamie move to Ravenna and was employed at Robinson Memorial Hospital and later at Rausch Elementary School. While volunteering in the booster clubs of her sons’ many athletic endeavors, Mamie’s greatest joy came from her active participation in her faith and management of family businesses.

Mamie was preceded in death by her mother Rose Christmas, sons Jerome Davis, Miles and Malcolm Wright, sisters Jurline Harris and Fannie Moore, brothers Robert, George, and James Davis. She is survived by her husband Andrew Wright, sons Andrew, Avon, Stephan, Rayfield, and Marcus Wright, sister Willie Rose Neely and brother Climmie Moore.

Farewell services will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024 with calling hours from 11:00 Am until time of funeral services at 12 Noon at the Kent, Ohio Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 1625 Athena Dr., Kent, Ohio 44240.  Condolences and memories of Mrs. Wright may be shared with her family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com
