Margaret Matjunas

Margaret Matjunas 67 of Ravenna died  Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Maplewood Care Center in Streetsboro. She was born April 25, 1944 in Ravenna to the Arthur and Madeline (Catlin) Matjunas. Margaret graduated from Ravenna High School in 1962, received the "Womanhood  Award" ,  and graduated from Kent State University in 1966. She was a first grade teacher  in the Ravenna School System for 32 years, first at Rausch and then at Willyard Elementary Schools. Margaret enjoyed traveling, reading and her pets who became family to her. Survivors include her nephew Matt Matjunas of Akron, uncle John Catlin of Atwater, cousins Grace and Jeanne Ehresman of Ravenna and many friends  she had taught over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Larry Matjunas. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna with Reverend William Snyder officiating.  Memorials should be made to the Portage County APL, PO Box 927, Ravenna, Ohio 44266.
